The Best Bluetooth Speakers to Withstand Renters

We’ve totally bought those super cool Bluetooth speakers… only to have our guests break them almost instantly. The usual culprits? The speaker is blown out from being put on full blast, or the buttons fall off, or the bluetooth connection no longer works (and the auxiliary cable is suddenly missing…) Are there really speakers that can withstand the abuse? There are! Below are our top choices with one clear winner.
We love Jawbone speakers for their modern design, color options and portability. We find that the speakers get blown out after a few full-blast plays, but they do great in spaces where design and durability come first.
JAWBONE
The iHome speaker always garners compliments and looks great in your host photos - but we’ve found it has some trouble connecting after a few months of heavy wear and tear. But your guests will enjoy the light show and swear you’re the coolest host ever…
Sonos speakers are super high quality, well designed and telegraph “luxury” in any space. But your guest has to download an app to use it so… not such a great sell for ease of use, but the sound is top notch.
The winner for us? The Altec Lansing Mini Lifejacket speaker is the bomb! It’s waterproof, has a rubber casing when it drops, and the mini version gets loud - but not too loud - for out of control guests. This gets our 5 star approval.
