Guest Messaging
We strongly recommend you add your Host Co store link to your automated messaging. Below are some examples of messages that work well, but make sure to add your store link and change products & services mentioned, depending on what you offer in your store. Giving your guests a glimpse into what you’re selling is a great way to get them to shop your store:
Just Booked Message
Right after guests book, here’s a great example of messaging about your store:
“Thanks for booking! We'll be in touch with the check-in specifics prior to your arrival. Meanwhile, if you're interested in add-on services like early check-in, local masage, private chef and more, check out our amenities shop:

1-2 Weeks Before Check-In
Our most successful hosts at selling services include an automated message 1-2 weeks in advance of a guest’s stay reminding them to order services while they still have time. For example:
“Your trip is coming up! If you’d like to add any pre-order services like early check-in, a local massage or a tour guide, click the link below. These services require a few days advance notice so we recommend ordering them now if you’re interested. Otherwise, we’ll be in touch with entry instructions closer to your stay!

Check-In Message
Include your Host Co store in your automated message that goes out with the door code. The earlier you send this, the more pre-order items like massages and chefs you can offer! For example:
“Your trip is almost here! Look out for check-in instructions headed your way. For additional upgrades like extra guest, pet fees, late-checkout or local services click the link to our amenities shop below. Safe travels!

After Check-In Message
If you’re selling last-minute late checkouts or have physical items in the home, we recommend sending guests an automated message after check-in. Here’s an example:
Welcome! We hope you got in okay or are safely on your way. In case you forgot anything, we have a store set up in the home with things like snacks, drinks, earplugs and sunscreen, or if you need a last-minute late checkout. If so, use the QR on the sign to access the store or click this link:

Welcome Guide Message
If you have a guidebook in your store, this is THE most effective way to increase sales. It mixes much needed information with what’s for sale, encouraging guests to enter and exit through the gift shop:

You can also use this link to get an early check-in / late check-out or request local services like a massage or private chef during your stay.”
