Austin is getting even more hip and the epicenter of that is definitely East Austin. This former industrial neighborhood has become THE place to hang out in Austin, close to cool bars and top notch restaurants. Defined by modern architecture and eclectic takes on the historical, here’s our short list for favorite Airbnb stays.
BOLD HISTORIC MANOR IN THE HEART OF TOWN
When someone takes a historic home, makes a nod to its past and then reinvigorates its future, we’re going to be sucker for it every time. From the bright red dining room to the bohemian attic space to this brooding bathroom, we’re in LURVE with this magical manor. Large and well-located, this place HAS to be the ultimate crash pad for your SXSW experience.

STYLISH TINY HOUSE AMONG THE TREES
This cute and cozy tiny house feels remote while being steps away from all the action of East Austin. The owners have turned this home into the perfect little jewel box, utilizing the loft to add some architectural interest to the living room with clean, fresh decor. SIGN. US. UP.
URBAN CREEKSIDE COTTAGE TWO MILES FROM DOWNTOWN
Love us some rustic. The cinderblock, the wood, the rope shelving… next to a creek? This is our funky East Austin fantasy come true. Eclectic furniture, open shelves and attention to detail have gone a long way to turn this cinderblock home into a warm and cozy getaway. We’re gonna give this one a hard yes when you invite us to stay.
EXPLORE AUSTIN
Dwell magazine-style architecture has become a staple of East Austin to replace the tiny, trailer-like homes that once dotted the neighborhood. This luxurious take on modern farmhouse is an example of that and the beautiful ways people are turning them into cozy Airbnbs. We’re soooo into it…
PICTURESQUE AND MODERN LOFT
This loft is definitely East Austin in a nutshell. It’s an industrial space chocked full of eclectic, funky charm. From the deer head over the TV to the cowhide rugs to the sweeping views, you definitely feel like you’re in Texas even if it’s still Austin’s much trendier version of it. Big and spacious, please invite all your friends over for a big weekend away and then let us know when cocktail hour is so we can crash it!
